All-New Halloween Horror Nights for 2009!
Universal Studios Hollywood’s "Halloween Horror Nights," beginning a 16-night run on October 2, will present all-new mazes, shows and scare zones!
"What makes Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights stand out from rival Halloween events, is the attention to detail. It has the same type of mazes and shows found at similar events, and yet there is a level of creativity and imagination found nowhere else. Utilizing all the resources you would expect from a film studio, Halloween Horror Nights brings nightmares to life in a thrillingly realistic way. Fans of terror, rejoice, Halloween Horror Nights exceeds all expectations." commented Shaun Beckerman, Socalthrills.com Film Critic.
With the announcement of four new maze experiences, four new “scare zones,” a new “Terror Tram” backlot experience, a “Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute” and a new “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” production, the re-imagining of Halloween Horror Nights for 2009 at Universal Studios Hollywood is now complete, setting the stage for the most intense and impactful “live” horror event ever to be presented in a theme park environment.
Halloween Horror Nights, Southern California’s most terrifying Halloween event, began its 16-night run on Friday, October 2. Tickets are on sale at www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com.
"It was scarier than I expected, it was very well organized, scary but not chaotic, and all around made for a very fun night." said Andrew Eddins, Socalthrills.com Media Correspondent.
New “scare zones” included a live staging of the 2004 Universal cult hit, “Shaun of the Dead,” a “Welcome to Hell!” where the seven deadly sins are punished by stilt walking demons whose torments are punctuated by dramatic fire effects. In the “The Meat Market,” fog will roll across rotting, maggot-infested animal carcasses and the whirling blades of the butchers’ chainsaws will be the only noise loud enough to drown out the sound of buzzing flies. In the final “scare zone,” “Freakz,” the denizens of and old carnival Freak Show will have developed a taste for human flesh.
"Halloween Horror Nights has exceeded my expectations and has given Knott's a run for their money." added Anthony Pacini, Socalthrills.com Media Correspondent.
Socalthrills.com staff, Anthony Pacini, Andrew Eddins, Shaun Beckerman and Robbie Bulus attended the Opening Night VIP Party and experienced the thrills and chills of the some of the mazes, shows, Terror Tram and scare zones! Check-out video highlights (above) of the event's activities.
